How long does the assessment take?
Most designers finish in about 20 minutes. There is no time limit — you can pause and resume anytime. Your progress is saved automatically.
Is this free?
Yes, completely free. No credit card, no hidden fees, no premium tier. The assessment and all features are free for designers.
Can I fail the assessment?
No. There are no pass/fail outcomes. Every response maps to a maturity level, and your results reflect your design thinking patterns — not a score out of 100. You get a capability band (like Senior or Lead), not a grade.
What do employers see?
Only what you choose to make public: your capability level, strength chips, badges, work-fit tags, and profile info. Employers never see raw scores, individual answers, or numeric percentages.
Can I retake the assessment?
Yes. After a 90-day cooldown, you can retake the full assessment. Your latest completed result becomes your canonical profile. Previous results are not visible to employers.
What are campaign assessments?
Some employers run hiring campaigns through UX Rank. If you receive a campaign link, you’ll take a tailored assessment specific to that role. Campaign results are shared with the hiring team but don’t affect your public profile or canonical results.
How is this different from a portfolio review?
Portfolios show what you've shipped. This assessment evaluates how you think through design problems — your decision-making patterns, trade-off reasoning, and maturity across 8 competency pillars. They complement each other.
Is my data safe?
Your profile visibility is entirely in your control — public or private, toggleable anytime. We never sell data, and raw scores are never exposed. All scoring is deterministic and versioned — no AI processes your responses.

We use this to select the right assessment modules — a CORE module matched to your tier, plus Context and Specialty modules matched to your background.
